The Role: Head of Operations Engineerin

Grade (relevant for internal applicants only): GL-13

The Location: Richmond, Charlottesville and Virtual

The Team: The Digital Commercial & Finance group is part of the S&P Global Corporate technology organization. We are responsible for the strategic evolution of technology platforms and capabilities serving finance, strategy and commercial employees. This includes the management and ongoing development of leading SaaS and cloud platforms such as Salesforce, Oracle Fusion, Zuora, Ariba, Crownpeak, Microfocus, Informatica, Azure DevOps, Amazon Web Services and more.

Our primary goal is to drive business value through Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Order-to-Cash (OTC) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) workflow productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Release Management & Release Engineering - End to end oversight over the design, implementation, and management of the release management operations and capabilities across the platforms we support. Responsible for building, enhancing, and optimizing the DevOps pipeline for continuous delivery.  Ownership of the team's environment management strategies and code promotion processes including security models.
  • IT Service Management Ownership over the proactive and reactive P1 production incidents process to ensure transparency on incident communications, speedy resolution and thorough root cause analysis to support continuous improvement.
  • Disaster Recovery -- Ownership of the IT Disaster Recovery plan and capabilities for all applications owned by the group. Work across all application owners to ensure proper preparation in the form of documented action plan and practice drills are in place.
  • Information Security & Vulnerability Management - Responsible for all vulnerability management across a significant range of mostly SaaS platforms.  Manage end to end information security, vulnerability, and audit processes.
  • SOX Controls Ownership and Compliance - Ownership of all SOX controls and compliance workflows including Action Plans across the range of business applications.  Ideal candidate will have experience reviewing, implementing, and managing end to end SOX controls of both cloud and on-premise applications.
  • Performance Reporting and Metrics - Ownership of the monthly performance reporting book that is published to our stakeholders to drive transparency and performance excellence for the group.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Management or equivalent
  • 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering or IT operations with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Experience developing or managing Salesforce platforms
  • Experience developing or managing Oracle Fusion (and other ERP platforms)
  • Direct experience with SOX Controls and Compliance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the finance or data management industries
  • Ability to rapidly solve problems while under pressure
  • Strong written and verbal communications
  • Experience with complex enterprise SaaS implementations
  • Experience building or managing applications on Amazon Web Services
