Position Overview

Are you looking for an opportunity to grow an engineering organization while in a fast-paced product team? Do you love coaching, mentoring, and empowering engineers through their career growth? Do you have a passion for creating collaborative and highly-aligned teams while understanding and translating core business value to internal and external stakeholders?

Clarus Commerce's Engineering team is searching for an Engineering Manager who is motivated and collaborative with an entrepreneurial spirit. You will be a key member of our team, making important technical decisions to shape the company's future. You will join a highly-skilled IT organization and utilize the latest technologies to develop high-traffic websites, web services, and other software products.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead, build, and serve a cross-functional team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, developing careers, instilling a culture of feedback, learning, and empowerment.
  • Collaborate closely with your team and stakeholders to enable the sustainable and timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs.
  • Facilitate and nurture cross-functional partnerships between engineers, product managers, implementations, and QA to build and deliver innovative products to our customers.
  • Work with the leadership team to set and define a technical and organizational strategy to grow a healthy and collaborative engineering culture aligned with Clarus's core values.
  • Lead the Engineering teams in the architecture, support, development, maintenance, and day-to-day operation of a multi-tenant digital commerce platform and supporting systems.
  • Advocate for and implement engineering best-practices and develop a technical strategy to guide short and long-term plans.
  • Partner with other leaders as we craft and evolve an agile, learning organization while nurturing a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in-line with our values.
  • You will support engineers developing new and enhancing existing products utilizing the Microsoft technology stack: C# 6, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC 5, Entity Framework, and SQL Server, and JavaScript libraries such as jQuery and React.

Who you are:

  • You have 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development with experience across multiple technologies, languages, and frameworks.
  • You have 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams within product teams.
  • You have 2+ years of professional experience with distributed microservice architecture, service orchestration, and containerization hosted in AWS, Google Cloud, and/or Azure.
  • You love developing and growing engineers and have a track record of doing so; you thrive when developing great people and great products.
  • You have led complex engineering efforts and know what it takes to deliver value to customers while maintaining a healthy team.
  • You are passionate about teamwork and collaboration while coaching and mentoring software developers in the timely delivery of high-quality software.
  • You have experience cultivating an effective engineering culture in an iterative, agile environment.
