Our Solution Engineering team continues to grow and we’re looking for experienced Healthcare EDI Software Engineers to leverage Olive and standard EDI technology to help us build and improve our products. This is a dynamic role delivering custom built product solutions to solve unique problems in the healthcare technology space. These solutions are foundational to implementing Olive’s revolutionary digital workforce. This engineer will also mentor other engineers and work closely with leads and senior engineers in the creation of complex solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of solutions and products leveraging healthcare EDI technology.
  • Knowledge of serverless architecture and worked on developing Microservices.
  • Actively work to improve quality and efficiency by evaluating standards and suggesting improvements.
  • Ability to technically document software deliverables through use cases, design documents and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated passion and ability for learning new technologies and frameworks while evaluating evolving code.
  • Organizational skills to ensure clarity of deliverables and handoffs within a team of developers working towards a common goal.
  • Ability to analyze and debug your code as well as the code of team members in a code review setting to constantly improve.
  • Knowledge of test driven development (TDD) methodologies.
  • Experience in object oriented design/architecture, applying design patterns, data structures, and algorithms in multithreaded applications.
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of experience implementing healthcare EDI solutions utilizing healthcare industry best practices and procedures.
  • Extensive experience with X12 EDI formats (e.g., 278, 270/271, 276/277, 835, 837, etc.) using industry standard tools.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or other equivalent experience.
  • Solid understanding of data types and structures.
  • Solid understanding OOP concepts
  • Experience in working with code repositories such as Git, CodeCommit or Bitbucket.
  • Ability to understand large scale software & system architecture.
  • Able to communicate technical issues with technical & non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Agile tools, Jira, Confluence.
  • Solid understanding of SOAP and RESTful API’s.
  • In-depth knowledge of HTTP (standard headers and custom headers, CGI methods, request bodies and request responses, as well as status codes)
  • Understanding of continuous integration, testing, deployment & release methodologies.

Preferred Skills/Experience Nice to Have

  • Experience with Automated testing, Unit testing or TDD.
  • Experience in self service oriented enterprise product solutions.
  • HL7 (Health Level Seven) experience
  • Epic EHR experience
  • Clarity data model experience
  • FHIR API experience
  • Proprietary API experience (such as Epic AppOrchard, Cerner Code, Clearinghouses, etc.)
