Do you want to revolutionize the way developers interact with Microsoft?

If this is you, join us in our effort to create extraordinary experiences for our technical audiences and internal authoring teams working on sites such as docs.microsoft.com and azure.microsoft.com.

You are passionate about web development, the right user experience and building publishing platforms that enable collaboration and rapid content creation. You are opinionated in the way things should be built and the processes by which we should get there; but your opinions are built on a respectable foundation of experience. As a team, we will work together to find the best solutions.

You have the demonstrated ability to navigate cross-organizational boundaries and build strong relationships with other engineering teams. You are not afraid to get into the details with homegrown platforms and applications and find their place in our workflow.

In this role, you will be a key part of improving the content publishing experience to make it faster and easier for a wide range of people to participate in the content development process for our websites. We are working to make it as ‘easy to edit our documentation as to send an email’ and we need your help to do it!

Responsibilities
  • Create and improve content publishing portals, integrated site experiences, open source tools and the whole editing workflow
  • Provide design guidance and code reviews to other teammates.
  • Contribute to planning and strategy around the site experience, the technical implementation and the team’s workflow.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-team problem solving ability.
  • Experience building accessible web applications and interfaces using a componentized design language.

  • Passion for internal collaboration with code reviews and knowledge sharing.
  • Experience with web fundamentals, application performance analysis and improvement.
  • Ability to define estimates, roadmaps and contribute to site strategy – from ideation to articulation to delivery.
  • Ability to work across the whole team to drive improvements in site quality, reliability, and the customer experience.
  • Experience working with distributed source code systems such as Git.
  • Experience with code coverage and driving to increase that coverage with application tests.
  • Familiar with continuous integration and continuous delivery best practices.

Preferred skills

  • Experience with technologies and frameworks like Single Page Applications, React, Vue.js, etc.
  • Experience coding with C# or Java
