Workiva is seeking a hands-on VP of Engineering to build, mentor, and lead the engineering teams responsible for the Workflow / Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) portion of our platform. You will inspire teams to execute on objectives and partner with stakeholders to create a platform vision for this functionality. The ideal candidate would have experience working with the BPMN framework.
We are open to this role being remote or based in one of our main R&D office locations: Ames, IA; Denver, CO; Scottsdale, AZ; Bozeman, MT

Engineering Operations: Prioritizes and drives software development across multiple teams and phases to ensure that engineering solutions are aligned with business objectives

- Oversees the day-to-day activities of the team through staff development, planning and forecasting, and budgetary obligations
- Minimize schedule and technical risk by foreseeing and addressing obstacles proactively and aggressively
Operations Management: Creates and implements processes and policies that optimize operational effectiveness and efficiency and that enhance employee engagement and performance
- Translates company strategy to operational goals and metrics for the team or division that serve to align and motivate employee performance
- Ensures sufficient resources and staffing levels to effectively deliver superior products and customer service
- Demonstrates efficient and effective use of organizational resources and seeks ways to improve systems and services
- Ensures that organizational structures and processes support optimal efficiency and effectiveness in accordance with the company’s strategic, financial, and operational objectives
- Aligns with other teams and departments to analyze, monitor, forecast and prioritize initiatives in accordance with organizational priorities and strategic plan
- Establishes and maintains regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent departmental or business unit activities
