Network Certification and Servicing is part of the American Express Network Services and Operations within the Global Merchant Network Services organization. Network Certification and Servicing team has created an exciting opportunity with a core focus of ensuring all Network participants (Issuers and Acquirers) can optimally and successfully transact with the American Express Network. Our team performs the following activities customer readiness, vendor certification/management, performance metrics monitoring, financial reconciliation, POS certifications and various process improvement initiatives.

The role will be responsible for management and development of the Network Test environment as required for the testing and certification of Network Participants. The test environment is a key system that ensures that Network Participants can accept American Express a wide range payment products and capabilities. This is highly visible role and in addition will lead and act as the liaison between external business partners, various internal American Express technology and business groups ensuring successful test tool development and implementation.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Requirements gathering, development of user stories and associated documentation
  • Alignment with key partners across the company
  • Third party vendor relationship management including statement of work and contracts
  • Communication planning
  • Ability to co-create user acceptance strategy and alignment with User Acceptance and Support teams
  • Development forecasting and prioritization
Minimum Qualifications
  • A deep understanding of credit card transaction processing
  • Ability to prioritize development to meet business needs
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies
  • Experience writing clear user stories that can be used by developers
  • Strong project management and change management skills
  • A willingness to learn, collaborate and co-create within a growing team
  • Proven experience influencing without authority
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at varying levels of the organization
  • Experience and ability to interpret technical specifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required

Additional skills:

  • Experience leading an engaging and results-oriented team
  • Knowledge of user acceptance testing
  • Understanding of the Emerging Payments (EMV, Contactless, Transit, Tokenization) with an ability to learn within the existing Network
  • Spanish bilingual a plus but not required
