Senior Principal Visual Designer for Customer Experience Journey Team (Round Rock TX or Remote-USA)

As Senior Principal Visual Designer for Global Services, your excitement about helping customers create and do amazing things with Dell Technologies services and capabilities will enable your success in creating engaging and modern templates that help customers discover what’s possible in their service experience.

We are standing up a new team to deeply understand the current state and then create a best in class customer experience journey, across all aspects of customer interactions with Services teams globally (Pre-Sales, Sales, Financing, Warranty, Technical Support, Field Services etc., and this is for experiences including telephony, chat, email, ticketing, portals and more).

As Senior Principal Visual Designer for our new Customer Experience Journey team within our global Services organization, you will be our go-to person for visual design, development, and delivery of assets and artifacts associated with world-class customer and user experience solutions. Take your work all the way from low fidelity to pixel perfect final design assets for execution by a software development team. You will design templates to meet a variety of customer needs and business goals. You will need to lead and produce templates from concept to publish. You’ll work with researchers and user experience designers to conceptualize new templates, visual styles and elements, and how we can best present templates across customer touchpoints. You will focus on seeking creative and impactful solutions that elevate the usefulness, usability, aesthetics, and quality of the template experience for customers. You take a customer-centric approach to design, enhancing functionality and ease of use through look and feel. We seek an experienced designer, with a fresh and modern design approach that reflects an exceptional aesthetic and expertise in graphic design principles and branding.

Bring your inspired creativity, clear communication, open collaboration, strong leadership and high impact-orientation to the service experience. As Senior Visual Designer, you will also advocate for the value of design excellence – up to date on current trends in technology, art and design, and designing for several target audiences across multiple devices and platforms including mobile.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, create and execute the design of templates that meet customer needs and business goals; Effectively communicate design vision and art direction to design squad that inspires creativity, creates cohesion, and shows attention to detail; Take your own hands on design work all the way from low fidelity to pixel perfect final design assets for execution by a software development team.
  • Collaborate with designers, researchers, technical experts, PMs and stakeholders to build templates from concept to publish
  • Explore and experiment with new template concepts and visual styles to keep the catalog fresh and unique. Curate and manage design assets such as fonts, images, illustrations, and color palettes . Own and maintain quality standards, guidelines, and design process to efficiently create well-crafted templates
  • Partner with other cross functional teams on opportunities to showcase new features and align with their goals and deliverables
Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 8+ years with a Master’s, or 5 with a PhD or equivalent experience;
    Including 5+ years of experience in visual design, graphic design and/or branding, and 3+ years of experience in interface design or user experience; Experience to include:
  • Exceptional portfolio of customer-centric work that demonstrates visual design excellence; hands on experience using low- and high-fidelity tools for design, collaboration and communication, including Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience applying a deep understanding of human-centered design principles, and clearly articulating customer needs, feature goals, and effective solutions
  • Maintaining high quality creative within a regular content publishing rhythm; Demonstrated high level of organization, dedication and adaptability in learning in a fast-paced environment, while working with the latest technologies
  • Self-starter who works well with a team, in a highly matrixed, cross functional, collaborative and Agile environment; Collaboratively direct other designers as part of achieving a goal, and well-versed in design critique best practices

Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in design for multiple types of customer touchpoints, preferably across a very high tech portfolio of products, services and solutions including cloud solutions
  • Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Creative Direction or related
  • Experience in design for services touchpoints (vs print, marketing, product)
