Deep Purple is the culmination of all the data and knowledge Olive is gathering as she performs a variety of job functions for many healthcare providers. Deep Purples makes the data and knowledge collected by Olive accessible and manageable to help drive business decisions and allow existing Olive digital workers to become smarter over time.

The Data Platform Architect for Deep Purple will be responsible for coordinating with Product, internal stakeholders, and the other Deep Purple teams (especially Data Engineering) to deliver on our vision of building Olive’s brain. This role will focus on designing and developing a data fabric environment that supports multiple types of data stores (both SQL and NoSQL) and is fronted by a cohesive set of APIs, all in the effort of providing the numerous users of Deep Purple a seamless experience for consumption and interaction with data elements.

  • Collaborate with Engineers and Product Managers to design and implement large, data-focused systems
  • Ability to meet deadlines and satisfy requirements from other Engineers and Product Management
  • Peer review and code review participation to provide valuable feedback during every step of the development process
  • Quickly produce well-organized, optimized, and documented code
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently across all divisions including with the business, technical teams, and leaders
  • Take technical ownership of tasks and successfully work independently
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of relevant programming experience (with at least 2 years primarily focused on systems architecture)
  • 3+ years experience working with multiple data layers in a connected environment (SQL & NoSQL)
  • Hands-on experience working data pipelines and data architecture
  • History of designing and delivering software solutions to real world problems across a variety of technology stacks and programming languages with deep experience in several modern programming languages (e.g. JavaScript, Python, Go, JVM based languages)
  • Experienced in the development of highly maintainable, reliable code using practices such as unit testing, integration testing, proper code documentation, and appropriate logging
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of fundamental engineering concepts
Preferred Requirements
  • AWS experience preferred (S3, Glue, RDS, EMR, Athena/Presto DB, IAM)
  • Experience writing and reviewing detailed Technical Design Documents (TDDs) is a plus
