  • The Opportunity: 

    The Creative department at Datadog is seeking a Copywriter with meticulous writing and editing skills and a love of learning about new technologies. The ideal candidate has experience writing, editing, and proofreading short- and long-form marketing materials, customer-facing emails, website copy, case studies, blog posts, and social media posts for a technology company.          


    The Team: 

    Datadog’s Writing team is the public voice of Datadog. We are a group of tech-oriented writers and editors who value accuracy, depth, and accessibility. As part of the Creative department, we work collaboratively within our team—but also collaborate across the entire company. 


    You Will: 

    • Write and edit marketing materials such as product pages, solution pages, and case studies 
    • Write and edit customer-facing emails, advertising copy, and social media copy to promote large- and small-scale events and trade shows 
    • Write and edit landing page copy and advertising copy for Demand Generation campaigns 
    • Write and edit in-app copy and microcopy for the Datadog UI
    • Ideate, write, and edit social media posts  
    • Collaborate closely with other members of the Writing team as well as stakeholders on various teams across Datadog—including Product Marketing, Partner Marketing, Product Management, Events, Demand Gen, Product Design, and Brand Design—to maximize the clarity, technical correctness, and visual appeal of our external- and internal-facing written communications


    You Are: 

    • A copywriter, content writer, or marketing writer with 2-4 years of professional experience working in this capacity in the technology industry 
    • A polished, versatile writer and editor, with writing samples to share
    • Flexible and can shift your writing style / voice on a dime, depending on the intended audience and business need 
    • Collaborative and enjoying working with others—you welcome feedback from editors and stakeholders  
    • Able to juggle multiple projects at once, meet deadlines, and stay organized
    • Deeply committed to maintaining accuracy and consistency in style, grammar, punctuation, and word usage, and have familiarity and proficiency with The Chicago Manual of Style   
    • A great communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Curious and enjoy learning about new technologies and trends in the industry 


    Bonus Points: 

    • You have worked as a writer / editor in the cloud monitoring space and are familiar with concepts related to software infrastructure, observability, application performance, and security   
    • You are proficient in at least one widely used general-purpose programming language (Python, Java, Ruby, etc.)
    • You have a background in technology
