Raytheon Missiles & Defense Whole Life Engineering (WLE) consists of several engineering disciplines. The main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and safe and economical ownership by the customer and end user. At Naval Power section within Whole Life Engineering, we provide a variety of Engineering capabilities to the Whole Life Engineering and Support Department, including:
Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
Technical Documentation /Logistics Management Information and Training
Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS)
Depot Operations Management
We are conducting search for a Technical Editor/Writer, who will have the opportunity to contribute to multi-disciplinary teams with the objective to oversee logistics engineering within major development programs.
Responsibilities will include:
Developing and reviewing technical communications deliverables including engineering documentation, operational procedures, plans, action reports, and meeting minutes, coordinating with engineering teams to obtain necessary input data
Preparing, reviewing, editing and maintaining program technical documents including software and system engineering documents, CONOPS, test reports, user documentation, implementation documentation, etc.
Creating, reviewing, editing and maintaining technical drawings
Providing assistance to the Whole Life Engineering Lead or Integrated Product Team Lead
This position can be a Salary Grade G06 or Salary Grade G07 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements.
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Periodic domestic travel is required.
Experience developing written content in a military or civilian environment
At the G07 level, a relevant Master's Degree may be considered for this job.
Experience with print, electronic, video and/or social media vehicles
US Citizenship is required
Experience with Extensible Markup Language (XML) Editors
Experience with Data Module Publishing Systems used to produce Technical Manuals (TM) and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM)
Experience technical writing and editing
Experience with creating technical briefings including executive leadership briefings
Familiarity with a variety of communications vehicles, practices and technologies, including print, electronic, video and social media
Familiarity with technical communication language and subject matter
Bachelor's degree. 8+ years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
