Federal Technical Account Management Consultant

What you’ll achieve

As a Federal Technologies Engineering Consultant, you will support a wide array of company technologies for our fast-growing National Security Group team. Your core responsibilities include learning and maintaining a deep technical acumen and understanding of the Dell Technologies portfolio to include storage, compute, networking, applications, cybersecurity, converged and hyper-converged systems, and edge-core-cloud synergies. Continually learn new technologies; stay current on existing technologies and continually expand their knowledge horizons. Develop internal relationships within Dell and earn trust amongst the account executives, program/project managers, executive leadership team members, infrastructure delivery teams, and security offices; also develop external relationships with customers and partners, and earn the customer’s trust through a demonstration of the highest caliber of professional, technical, and mission competence. Assist customer and sales team with design, definition, and implementation of complex system requirements.

You will:

  • Perform diagnostic and hardware repair service as required.  Diagnose any system malfunction to isolate problems to Dell, other OEM vendors or software.

  • Perform firmware updates on a variety of platforms and modify scripts as needed to work in customer environments during an outage or failure. Deliver software updates (Application, Firmware, BIOS, Driver, and Diagnostics).

  • Perform firmware updates at scale. Be able to perform basic scripting or have a basic knowledge of scripting in order to diagnose problems or perform large deployments.

  • Assist in identifying and leveraging Dell and partner resources in order to satisfy the technical needs and objectives of the customer’s implementation during an outage or failure.

  • Deploy full stack setups. Due to the span of complexity, many engagements require deploying a rack(s) of hardware, including networking and their respective configurations, and deploying a software stack on top.

  • Follow-up on all service calls to ensure customer satisfaction, and manage customer expectations with respect to support agreements and project plans.

  • Ensure appropriate technical resources and services are in place to solve customer problems; notify sales team of critical technical issues impacting the customer during and outage or failure.

Essential Requirements:

  • 12+ years with a Master’s degree; or 8+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience.

  • Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance.

  • Experience managing enterprise hardware, including server, storage, and networking technology.

  • Possesses in-depth technical knowledge of Dell Enterprise and Dell Client hardware and software solutions.

  • Experience designing and architecting hardware and software solutions.

  • Proficiency in operating systems like Linux, Unix, and Windows.

  • Experience with virtualization technologies, cloud technologies, and high-performance computing

Desired Requirements:

  • CI or FS poly

  • A+, Security +, MCITP/MCSE, VCP, RHCSA, CCNA certifications
