Solutions Consultant, Project Manager:

Master architect, networking expert, project team leader and manager. Performing client main point-of-contact, presentation and update, negotiation and expectation management, scope management, schedule management, change management, task priority, actions tracking and technical direction of analytical solutions development and delivery. Highly skilled at judging and balancing client needs across multiple stakeholder viewpoints, maintaining program plan and adherence to specification of work, and assuring delivery under exacting conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Consulting PM performs client facing project management:
    • Pitches appropriately to each audience level and type
    • Establishes early client recognition of specification, conditions, progress and issues
    • Uncovers and assimilates changing client needs and constraints, innovates alternative strategies, structures an appropriate response, gaining client buy-in at least exposure
    • Ensures continuing feasibility, scope and definition of deliverables, and where necessary puts appropriate stages into the solution delivery
    • Maintains and tracks project costings, adherence to statements of work in accord with account strategy and contract requirements
    • Serves as the senior engagement escalation point to ensure high levels of quality and client satisfaction
  • Serving as Master Architect and technical team leader for implementation and delivery:
    • Technically competent in the broadest range of networking technologies, OSS, data analysis, process and IT systems
    • Expert in custom analytical solutions delivery, systems integration and process mapping and workflow automation
  • Works closely with Solutions Consultants and contributes to client consulting engagements, delivering presentations, enhances client recognition and understanding of dominant system issues, and contributes to the determination of timescales, scoping and resolution of any technical and data analytical issues
  • Works closely with Solutions Analysts regarding feasibility and timescale assessment, and solution suitability to meet use-cases and general requirements as efficaciously and efficiently as possible
  • Develops deep relationships internally and externally, ensuring sustained investment through strong client partnership
  • Maintains knowledge of available solutions and best practice for consulting processes

Team(s) with which this role will interact

  • Mostly a client facing role – their engineering, IT, planning departments etc., but the main emphasis is team leading and coordination of other ASC team members
  • Working in close collaboration and coordination with services sales, the GSS group and the GFO
  • Occasionally collaborates with SPLM, PLM and sales teams to link learnings to pre-sales consulting opportunities
  • Keeps abreast of market development and commercial development for consulting services

Experience and personal skills required for the role:

5+ years’ experience in a fee-based consultancy practice, specializing in communications and/or IT performing:

  • project team leader and manager
  • client main point-of-contact
  • negotiation and expectation management,
  • scope, change and schedule management
  • task priority and actions tracking
  • technical direction of analytical solutions development and delivery
  • resource utilization and margin attainment
  • 10+ years’ experience in Project Consulting, skilled at judging and balancing client needs across multiple stakeholder viewpoints, maintaining program plan and adherence to specification of work, and assuring delivery under exacting conditions, including the manifold skills of
    • project management
    • solution and action tracking and reporting
    • analytics definition, design and implementation
    • master systems architect
    • networking expert
    • data analysis
    • operational tools
    • workflow automation
    • systems integration of back-office systems
    • visualization solutions for the replacement of existing methodology and tools

Masterful ability to capture, paraphrase, prioritize and propose rapidly against customer needs, translating into distinct use cases

Consummate technical knowledge of

  • Communications networks L0 – L3, signalling protocols, IP networking
  • Network management systems, and element management systems
  • OSS, BSS and Inventory Management systems ancient to modern
  • Data analysis – cleansing, normalizing, integrating and rendering
  • Database technologies particularly NoSQL
  • NMS - Ciena and other vendor (Huawei, Infinera etc.) products and tools an advantage
  • Commercial and contractual experience, with proven written contract skills
  • Excellent engaging and persuasive visual and written communications materials
  • Structures and plans communication (verbal and written) to influence and persuade according to audience – junior to C-level
