A Licensed Professional Engineer (or EIT) with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in executing environmentally safe performance of service projects will be considered for a level 7 job. Candidates with more than 8 years of experience may be considered for a level 6 job.
Comprehensive understanding of drawing design, civil and installation construction within generation, transmission, and distribution projects. Knowledge of engineering standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI.
An understanding of major electrical power and industrial system applications for AC/DC substation systems. Knowledge of Solar power, Battery storage and Windfarm is a plus.
Knowledge of a wide variety of electrical equipment, including but not limited to: medium Voltage Switchgear, Low voltage AC circuits, auxiliary power transformers, battery chargers, lead acid batteries, DC distribution, cooling systems, IGBT switching, DC control and protection circuits, alarm systems, and mechanical interlocking arrangements.
This position will lead direct reports in the future; therefore the candidate should be able to direct and plan a small team to complete work as needed.
We expect this position to travel approximately 25% of the time, traveling to field locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions to review potential project sites.

This engineer works within a project team to manage all design documents and drawings for a project, including wiring diagrams from schematics, generating bills of materials, and applying field mark-ups of project as-built drawings to perform engineering support tasks such as relay burden, lighting, load flow, and short circuit calculations for micro grid projects, brownfield substation additions, industrial substations and grid access.
Must be familiar with engineering application software to complete engineering tasks such as ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, and load flow and short circuit studies.
Review project Schedules and work with a construction manager to ensure projects remain on schedule. Communicate and coordinate project activities with project managers, customer representatives, and other stakeholders.
Provide overall project coordination and engineering oversight on assigned substation projects.
Specification development for the procurement, installation, and testing of substation equipment.
Apply engineering application software to complete engineering tasks such as ground grid design, equipment sizing, relay coordination, and electrical studies.
