Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering combined with a minimum of 8 years of experience 

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to focus on detailed work including performing hand calculations or simulations for sizing the fluidic devices

  • High awareness of the certification requirements the package needs to meet for Hazardous area certifications in North American Region and globally

  • Experience and expertise in the design of fuel gas & purge systems to enable the transition from natural gas to H2 blended fuels and pure H2, syngas and or NH3. 

  • Knowledge of Hydrogen including  material compatibility, physical properties, best engineering practices, and industry codes and standards as it pertains to its application as fuel in Gas Turbines.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

  • As a federal contractor, Siemens Energy continues to monitor federal and state legal guidelines regarding the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Your responsibilities

  • Development of robust, cost competitive sub-system baselines and options

  • Design of sub-systems using mathematical models and process modeling software. In particular, experience creating thermo-fluid and process models using spreadsheets, MATLAB, Simulink, Mathcad, commercial process modeling software such as AMESim, or similar tools

  • Creation and release of technical System Requirements (SRs & SRI) & general Procurement Specification (PS) for fluid systems in scope of team

  • Creation and release of Piping & Instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)

  • Creation and release of engineering reports to document the requirements, design criteria and design tasks to complete the sub-system design for sub-systems in scope.

  • Review and approval of engineering drawings

  • Review and approval of items on Vendor Documentation Requirement List (VDRL)

  • Review, comment and approve engineering vendor documentation from vendors

  • The engineer is expected to interact with numerous stakeholders of the Fluid Systems team and build strong collaboration with Product owner, the Global Customer Organization colleagues (Piping & layout, Electrical, Controls and APO) to gain better clarity on the requirements & scope and to provide clear requirements to teams that follow Fluid Systems

  • Opportunity to support Project execution business with development of auxiliary systems that are highly customized in demanding timelines.

This team is a part of our Large Rotating Equipment organization. We focus on the development of new products and maintenance of product baselines for the Power Generation Market. The team is expected to support Gas Turbine (GT) product sub-systems such as: gas and liquid fuel systems, seal air, bleed air and instrument air systems, GT lube oil, driven lube oil, hydraulic start, wet compression and compressor cleaning systems. We also drive cost out initiatives of the baselines and address fleet issues on the subsystems that are within the scope of the fluid systems auxiliaries team.
