Responsibilities:

  • Lead team to provide financial support and oversight to Global Quality, Global Engineering & Facilities & HQ Functions, including:
    • Serve as each function's advisor and liaison for all finance, accounting and forecasting activities.
    • Active participation on business partner leadership teams, serving as financial advisor and strategic business partner, helping the organization to meet short and long-term goals by supporting decision-making and execution via financial planning, monitoring and analysis
    • Be a member of the GPS Finance Leadership Team
  • Responsible for financial aspects of ~$1.3B global Capital spend for the company, including identifying trends, opportunities to optimize, and improve process, providing and enhancing data visibility and insights, liaising closely with VP GE&F.
  • Advance Celgene and MyoKardia integration by leading processes and system harmonization across Finance and Business Units
  • Enable, track and report on Value Capture initiatives, identifying risks and opportunities to annual targets
  • Direct Budget, Projection and monthly close (actual results) processes; ensure all financials are accurately presented and maintained within a strong internal control environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement to simplify processes, reduce manual work and enhance visibility
  • Establish and maintain strong business partnerships and cross-functional relationships within GPS and across other Business Units and Corporate Finance groups (R&ED, IT, Treasury, CFR, CFP&A and others)
  • Rigor-test business assumptions and enable appropriate risk-benefit trade-off discussions
  • Manage special projects, direct ad-hoc analysis to ensure highly effective outcomes
  • Maintain Finance advisor and steward roled across matrix partners (BI&A, HR, IT, Real Estate, others) to inform and influence data-driven, sound decision-makingSupport and further ongoing people development activities to develop and advance talent in the GPS Finance organization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA and/or CPA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance positions with proven upward progression
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, financial modeling, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and focus resources on areas of highest risk and/or value
  • Ability to deal with complexity and uncertainty while driving teams towards actionable decisions
  • Strong business partnering mindset
  • Ability to build relationships, influence a broad range of stakeholders at all levels, and work effectively in a matrix organization
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present to various levels of management
  • Financial systems experience including MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), TM1 and SAP
