The Fund Operations Associate is a key member of the Fund Operations Department. The ideal candidate will become well versed in the Funds’ investment philosophies, operational procedures and prospectus requirements. The role of the Fund Operations Associate will involve taking inbound and placing outbound calls from/to direct shareowners and intermediaries who invest in Thornburg Funds, and will provide both product and operational advice. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, possesses a positive and professional attitude and thrives in a team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Become a subject matter expert in the Funds’ investment philosophies, operational procedures, SEC rules and regulations, and prospectus requirements.
  • Receive inbound calls regarding all aspects of the fund. Provide both product and operational advice to industry professionals, shareowners and intermediary partners.
  • Facilitate shareowner trades and provide instructions to the transfer agency to ensure accurate processing of work items.
  • Report errors to the transfer agent in a timely manner and facilitate the corrections of these errors.
  • Analyze and reconcile data provided by the transfer agency to confirm compliance with the Funds’ prospectus.
  • Provide information to key stakeholders within the firm regarding fund policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with internal and external Fund partners.
  • Work with team members to problem solve and bring complex issues to resolution in a respectful and collaborative manner.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed.
Minimum Experience and Formal Requirements
  • B.A. or B.S from an accredited 4 year college or university preferred
  • 1-3 years experience within the investment fund industry is preferred but not required.
  • FINRA Series 6 and 63 license registrations (or ability to attain within first year of employment)
