In this role, you’ll engage across all parts of the business and company to drive compelling people, business and customer stories to the right audiences at the right time. This role oversees the full range of communications efforts, including executive communications, external PR and social content, employee engagement, change management and strategy, engagement at Microsoft “headliner” events like Build, Inspire, and Ignite, and external experiential marketing. You’ll directly manage a team of seasoned communications professionals, and work with a broad community of business managers, chiefs of staffs, comms managers, and supporting agencies. 

 

Responsibilities

 

 Responsibilities include:  

  • Direct management of the core Communications team. 
  • Partnerships with the Leadership Team, and their Chiefs of Staff.  
  • Internal and external communications strategy and development, reflecting the vision and thought leadership for an evolving, dynamic organization 
  • Optimizing storytelling opportunities for maximum impact as defined by comms and sales metrics.   
  • Leading creative content and story design, with an eye towards compelling, people-centric stories told in compelling new ways 
  • Establishing an org-wide communications & storytelling training program that empowers every one of our 10,000+ people to be master storytellers 
  • Active collaboration with critical stakeholders and organizations in a highly matrixed environment  
  • Precisely managing budget. 
Qualifications

 

Who are you? 

  • You have 10+ years of related experience with 5+ years of leadership experience.  
  • You have Executive maturity and high capacity for managing in a dynamic, fast-paced environment 
  • You are an inspirational leader with experience forming and leading high-performing teams while maintaining grace under pressure and always doing what’s right 
  • You have a growth mindset and a pre-disposition to learning culture 
  • You have demonstrated expertise in relevant aspects of internal, external, and executive communications. 
  • You have a BA/BS in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Business or related field (or equivalent)
