    In this role, the Quality Engineer II is responsible for quality engineering support of one of the primary work centers within Waters Milford Machining Operations. Quality engineering support will include nonconformance management, process improvement, programming of automated inspection equipment, fixture design, and statistical analysis of process qualification data. The ideal candidate shall be comfortable communicating with machine operators, mechanical inspectors, process engineers, operations management, and quality systems staff, and shall possess knowledge of design and manufacturing principles.


    -Statistical analysis of machine part qualification deliverables

    -Programming of automated inspection equipment

    -Mechanical design of inspection fixtures

    -Participation in machining process improvement activities

    -Nonconformance management of machined components


    Education and Experience:


    -BS in engineering (mechanical or manufacturing preferred)

    -1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing, design, or quality environment. Highly relevant internship experience may be considered.




    -MS in engineering


    Required Qualifications:


    -A background in the application of statistical techniques (gage R&R, DOE, control charts)

    -Experience in a machining or manufacturing environment

    -Experience presenting technical information to a broad audience

    -Demonstrated competency in mechanical design using CAD software

    -Ability to drive change in a fast-paced organization with minimal oversight


    Desired Qualifications:


    -Familiarity with medical device regulations (FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485)

    -General programming language experience (G-Code, VB, C++, etc.)

    -Programming of automated metrology equipment, such as a CMM (Zeiss Calypso preferred)

    -Data analysis experience (Minitab preferred)

    -Experience using SolidWorks CAD software

    -Experience in nonconformance managmet
