Zendesk is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who wants to make an impact on the trajectory of the Marketing organization. As an integral member of the Finance team, reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance and Strategy, the primary responsibility is to work closely with Marketing leaders and their teams to develop a full understanding of the organization's strategic priorities, resource and headcount needs, provide analytical support, drive investment recommendations, and partner with them to execute and improve financial planning, budgeting and reporting. In addition, as a trusted financial partner, this Senior Analyst will provide business insight, critical financial analyses and effective planning.

  • Partner with Marketing leadership to maintain and develop best-in-class key operational and financial metrics.
  • Responsible for establishing/driving process and process improvements, consolidate forecasts/reports, analyze the trends/variances identifying business drivers behind the numbers for meaningful executive level summaries and analytics, and meeting timelines and deliverables.
  • Partner with Marketing organization to develop lead pipeline forecasting.
  • Analyze financial data and provide timely and accurate financial recommendations to management with specific focus on trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Identify and monitor key financial metrics and business drivers, with focus on developing Marketing Initiatives ROI.
  • Analyze short term and long term financial implications for alternatives and provide support for decision making
  • Strong understanding of accounting and the ability to draw upon knowledge in order to produce accurate forecasts; work closely with Controller’s group to ensure accuracy and completeness during period-end close
  • Support monthly / quarterly standardized processes to enable timely, disciplined execution of internal and external reporting deliverables
  • Participates and leads cross-functional teams to drive initiatives such as: optimizing financial systems, creating tools and/or improving operating processes.
  • 4+ years financial planning experience a plus.
  • Able to understand differing points of view and facilitate mutually acceptable solutions.
  • Proficiency in using/ managing/ building-out planning tools & applications.
  • Exposure to Netsuite, and Hyperion, a significant plus.
  • Strong drive for data integrity, process definition, and organizational alignment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to quickly identify and resolve data issues/needs
  • Must be committed to achieving results - ability to understand both strategic impact of decisions yet able to operate at a tactical level to accomplish tasks with proven ability to take initiative to solve problems independently
  • Willing ”can do” attitude, commitment to quality, enthusiasm, and attention to detail
