We are looking for a Principal Program Manager to join our team in San Francisco. In this role, you will drive the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of key marketing programs at the cross-functional level. Your job as Principal Program Manager is to keep programs and initiatives moving forward for teams within the Marketing organization including Growth, Analytics, Web, Partner Marketing, Field/Regional Marketing, Integrated Marketing Campaigns, Product Marketing, Corporate Communications, and Content Localization as well as liaising with teams across Zendesk including Product Development, Sales, and Legal.
You bring structure to managing the full lifecycle of complex programs from requirements gathering and program definition, to design and implementation and, finally, to operational excellence. You get your kicks by facilitating cross-functional interactions to ensure programs you drive meet shared goals.
What you get to do everyday:
Partner closely with the key Marketing leaders at Zendesk to drive key cross-functional programs and initiatives with executive-level visibility
Work with the Director of Business Operations, Marketing to understand key company priorities and how they impact the Marketing team
Drive several company-wide, cross-geo programs at a time, ensuring clear and proactive communication and follow up with stakeholders and third parties, to meet deadlines and stay within budget
Identify and track key milestones to get a program from start to finish
Set up an appropriate communications infrastructure including cross-functional team meetings, status reporting, and informal conversations to track program status and keep stakeholders up to date
Drive and facilitate communications between the Marketing organization and key stakeholders
Anticipate areas of risk and determine ways to mitigate them, and think it’s fun!
Facilitate and optimize the marketing planning and prioritization process including prioritization of key initiatives by leaders and capacity planning to develop committed roadmaps
Cultivate a culture of openness and transparency to increase the likelihood of program successLive and breathe these words every day: drive, communicate, streamline, fill gaps, facilitate, negotiate
Have a positive impact on the effectiveness of the Marketing organization and the company
What you bring to the table:
BS/BA or equivalent and a MINIMUM of 7+ years in a Software Program Management role
Experience at a software company driving large-scale SaaS programs within a Marketing organization
Proven track record of setting up and simultaneously driving several large-scale, complex programs across several organizations
Experience effectively communicating program goals and status to senior-level executives
Ability to proactively identify problem areas and then mobilize the right people to solve them
Exceptional organizational, planning, collaboration, influencing and prioritization skills
Ability to facilitate efficient and productive meetings that people look forward to attending
You lead by influence rather than authority, to build trust across the organization
Ability to tailor your approach and those of the PMO to meet the needs of the Marketing Organization
An understanding of the challenges faced by cross-geo teams and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to solve them
Experience and a passion for establishing new best practices for the PMO and the Marketing Organization you will support
