The Global Commercial Services (GCS) division of American Express is the global leader in the Commercial Payments Solutions space. The Intelligent Automation and Business Process Engineering team (IA) is an exciting and fast-paced, entrepreneurial team delivering the data strategy and innovation for GCS. Through a collaborative partnership with the Enterprise Automation Team, IA seeks to unlock new automation opportunities, ensure best-in-class process management, and improve growth and retention by supporting product, marketing, and operations strategies. 

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a driven, strategic, and innovative professional to fill our Sr. Manager-Intelligent Automation Strategy & Program Management position in Intelligent Automation Strategy team. This individual will be responsible for supporting our strategies for improvement of GCS processes using automation. Will require detailed planning and focused execution to produce results that meet our prioritized objectives. In addition, this will help with the communication to business partners and stakeholders.  

  • Solid understanding and experience of program management standards and methods
  • Ability to balance multiple and competing priorities – work well under pressure
  • Build relationships with business partners, stakeholders and colleagues including Operational Excellence, Compliance, Technology, Client Management, Data Management, and other colleagues to promote collaboration
  • Effective leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ensure consistent, effective, and impactful program deliverables so to keep in line transformational demands, provide support and guidance to the team members
  • Support and enrich program governance and framework
  • Manage and draft communication and updates across the organization
  • Strong presentation skills, stakeholder reporting
  • Ensure high-quality and effective execution and delivery of program deliverables
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts

Key requirements for the role include the following:

  • Prior project management experience preferred
  • Ability to think strategically and come up with out of the box ideas/solutions
  • Outstanding problem-solving abilities (issue identification, problem structuring, analysis, development of measurable recommendations)
  • Exception communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to build and leverage relationships with key business partners
  • Work effectively in a matrix organization and drive alignment across teams
  • A creative problem solver who is comfortable with ambiguity, challenging the status quo and with a proven ability to solve unstructured problems.
  • Proven problem solving and organizational change management skills 
  • A minimum of three 3+ years’ experience in a combination of analysis, product management, product development and/or software application development.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or related business subject area is preferred.
