Collaborate with the UX team and Product Management on designing beautifully simple billing and purchasing user experiences - then implement and deploy them.
Maintain and enhance our customer-facing EmberJS subscription/purchasing UI.
Work with a team of extremely talented engineers who own the Zendesk billing service.
Interact with customers and find creative solutions to challenging problems.
Keep track and adapt to rapidly changing requirements in a fast-paced team.
Provide support to the finance team to ensure our systems are compliant and secure.
What you bring to the role
Proficiency with relational databases and SQL (preferably MySQL).
A team-first attitude that thrives in a fast-moving agile development environment.
Minimum of 5 years professional experience with Ruby, Python, or Java.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Nice to Have
Experience with Rails (or similar framework).
Experience working on open source projects with an active GitHub repo.
Expertise with instrumentation frameworks like Segment/Pendo/Heap.
Experience working in a fast paced environment with continuous integration, unit/integration/load/performance testing.
Experience with billing platforms and services (Zuora, Braintree, PayPal), multi-currency, internationalization, payment processing, subscription modeling, fraud detection.
Experience with Continuous Integration systems or Continuous Deployment / Delivery (Travis, Jenkins).
The Billing Team really hates writing code on whiteboards (does anyone like it?) so as part of our interview process we ask all candidates to complete a small at-home coding challenge. We do this so that awesome future teammates have the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities while making use of the tools, technologies, and resources they would normally use. Our challenges are structured so that they should only take a few hours to complete and we allow a week for candidates to tackle the challenge while balancing the effort against their other commitments. The Billing Team will review and evaluate each submission (our evaluation criteria is included with the coding challenge) and if we move forward with an on-site interview - your code will be used during the interview day as the foundation for a code review and pair-programming session.
