    The Investment Engine Technology team at Bridgewater engineers systems to understand the world.  These systems synthesize and industrialize our global understanding into a hive mind of macroeconomic knowledge which enables us to educate and collaborate with the world’s most influential central banks and policy makers and carefully and strategically manage the world’s most important capital.  Our technologists are engineering highly available, high performing and highly secure cloud platforms and infrastructure which support and scale our investing operations.

    Critical Infrastructure Team

    Our Critical Infrastructure team provides the core, hybrid-cloud infrastructure technology to enable our Investment Engine business goals and entire company operations.  The team is made up of Architects, Engineers and DevOps teams who are building and running all our infrastructure platforms including Cloud Solutions, Physical Data Centers, Networking, Security, Storage, Operating Systems, Databases, and Middleware.

    Position Responsibilities

    As a Systems Reliability Lead, you will oversee several small groups supporting Bridgewater’s critical infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of day to day operations, shepherding long term projects, overseeing service restoration, and continuously improving the service. You will interact with other tech teams on projects and/or service issues.

    You will drive the following responsibilities:

    • Excellent Service Delivery – Able to provide a high-quality picture of the health and status of all the services in the group. Identify the biggest risks and ensure they are dealt with well. Handle critical incidents well and ability to run post-mortems. Provide technical help to team members when necessary.
    • Project Oversight – Run and oversee project management to ensure the team’s quarterly and yearly goals are being met. Help plan yearly roadmap.
    • Managing people – Run and improve existing oversight processes to ensure individual contributors are providing excellent service and executing against projects, as well as handling escalations and coaching team members to improve service quality.

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Experience delivering and improving mission-critical services in an enterprise environment.
    • Experience running teams and/or large-scale projects.
    • Broad experience in core infrastructure technology – knowledge of things like DNS, DHCP, storage tech, databases, cloud compute and operating systems.
    • Ability to teach and mentor junior team members.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
