Thrive Global is looking for their first ever Head of a quickly developing Creative / Branded Content Studio to lead the creative development and execution of all branded digital content across the channels & platforms of Thrive and their brand clients. This role will partner closely with both the Revenue and Content departments to manage a team of strategists, producers / editors, and creatives, and own the overall branded content strategy. The Head of Branded Content will be tasked with conceiving innovative, 360-degree ideas for content that meets the objectives of Thrive’s brand partners while staying true to Thrive’s premium and unique editorial voice. The ideal candidate is a player/coach with extensive expertise in branded digital video and editorial, lifestyle storytelling, and branded partnership sales.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ideate creative concepts and campaigns through the lens of a brand that translate the objectives of Thrive’s partners into incredible content; including video, photo, written, audio, social - or something entirely new
  • Utilize deep, existing relationships with agencies and brands to identify and drive new business opportunities and revenue growth for Thrive’s custom content business
  • Facilitate strategic, creative conversations and work collaboratively with clients and internal stakeholders to develop and refine pitches for custom content-based marketing programs
  • Define how Thrive Global works with and sells to clients, both agencies and direct; manage strategic packaging and pricing, product, and deliverables.
  • Negotiate complex content partnership deals with the ability to navigate goals and expectations of internal and external teams
  • Leverage extensive people and project management experience on a daily basis to manage workflow as well as creative and professional development of your immediate team
  • Work collaboratively with the broader Content/Creative and Operations teams and Revenue teams, along with other key leads across Thrive Global; including Business Development, Brand Strategy, Editorial, and Sales to develop the best branded content partnerships for marketers


REQUIREMENTS

  • 7-10 years’ experience at a creative agency or in branded content at a media company, with a focus on digital advertising and custom content within the sports, health and wellness, or entertainment landscapes
  • Experience managing a team and developing creative and operational talent, with ability to provide clear creative direction in a timely manner. Understands how to scale while prioritizing time between the needs of the team and the business
  • Extensive Sales experience; including owning relationships with key client decision makers, leveraging innovative content, and strategically packaging and pricing
  • Adept at direct selling, responding to RFPs, building media plans and influencer campaigns, and leveraging resources to strategically deliver on proposals
  • Proven track record of meeting revenue goals and producing innovative solutions for a digital audience that is constantly growing and changing
  • An experienced digital content creator who understands how content moves in a socially-driven media environment
  • An innovator who has strong roots in brand-supported content; who can discern how a unique content brand can scale without losing its distinctiveness
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently, and package and pitch new, exciting ideas on a consistent basis
  • A keen observer of the media scene who recognizes rapid changes in the landscape and can adapt accordingly
