Zendesk is looking for a talented HR professional to lead the Americas HR team. This role has been created as a result of internal progression of the current HR Director. You will lead a team of 7 great HR Business Partners and Coordinators.
This role is based in our San Francisco headquarters. The role reports to the Senior Director of People Operations.
Lead the Americas HR function. Help the team achieve high operational excellence as well as developing a strategic HR orientation.
Foster strong relationships & collaboration across the team and with People Ops colleagues around the world (and other key teams like Legal, Finance, Payroll). Act as primary liaison with our internal employment counsel.
Guide the development, implementation and coordination of our HR policies, processes, practices, and programs in AMER. Help achieve harmony on those with your EMEA and APAC HR leadership counterparts.
Manage more senior employee relations matters in the region and oversee the handling of broad employee relations by your team and the managers they support, including any escalations.
Constantly focus on developing and improving HR team processes and systems.
Assist People Development with the launch / execution of local training, compliance efforts and professional development events, classes, etc.
Work with Total Rewards in relation to compensation cycles and other programs applicable to your employee group.
Participate in the development and implementation of employee retention, succession and workforce plans.
Identify gaps in the team and address them. Develop your budding rockstars. Plan for HR team growth and ensure the HR skill-sets stay ahead of that pace.
Encourage continuous improvement and innovation amongst the team of HRBPs and Coordinators, e.g. in relation to the new hire onboarding program and other activities.
Implement and utilize HR metrics to measure performance and make sure we're on the right track.
Ensure the AMER HR team brand as a trusted strategic partner with high business acumen, judgment and functional capability.
A proven track record of success, working as a true business partner at a leadership level in a fast-growth environment.
Demonstrated success in best practice HR, driving top performance management practices, fostering employee engagement, and employee relations.
Superior presentation and verbal / written communication skills.
Comfortable with giving and receiving open, constructive feedback.
Strong team leadership and people development skills.
A strong business acumen and be a credible voice with leadership.
Strong project management, presentation and communication / active listening skills.
A focus on achieving a high level of customer service.
An advanced degree in business or HR-related fields is preferred.
