Engineer will be expected to work on technical queries aka escalations opened by support. Engineer is supposed to analyze the issue at hand and provide a solution to customer. The solution could be a short term (with a workaround) or a long term solution (Defect fix). At times the engineer will be expected to attend the customer call along with support.
Along with the above responsibilities, engineer is expected to work on maintenance packs and hot fixes (patches) which can contain important and complex fixes.
Engineer also needs to work on a feature/enhancements that could involve major design changes.
Expectation from candidate:
Strong analytical skills.
Mandatory knowledge of C / C++ with string object oriented concepts. Knowledge of java programming can be an added advantage.
Exposure to driver programming & debugging.
Experience in windows internals.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
