Regional Sales Manager - South New Jersey-Pennsylvania-West Virginia-Virginia-Maryland-Delaware-DC

Employment: Full Time Experience: Senior

Build and manage an existing account base and prospect for new accounts. Identify opportunities for sales of the company’s products by conducting needs assessment with law enforcement agencies. Drive the sales process, develop new business and close orders.

  • Develop and maintain an opportunity funnel of prospective sales. Make sales contacts through the effective use of telephone and face to face prospecting.
  • Conduct professional product presentations and direct the preparation of quotations.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and other industry events.
  • Manage the procurement process by assisting customers with the development of bid specifications. Keep abreast of bids in the territory.
  • Document all sales activity through the company’s customer relationship management program. Provide timely and accurate reports including a weekly activity report, rolling three month forecast, evaluation system log and other reports that may be required.
  • Learn the features and benefits of the company’s products and develop a working knowledge of the competition, conduct post-sale training sessions and provide ongoing customer relationships.
  • Accountable quota in assigned territory
  • Provide when requested information about the territory, customers, competitor activities and other relevant marketing intelligence.
  • Maintain all assigned company equipment in good order. Maintain travel and entertainment expenses within budget and according to company policy. Operate company vehicle in a safe and professional manner.
  • Perform additional duties as may be required from time to time.
  • Extensive travel in assigned territory, national trade shows, and sales meetings (up to 100%)
  • Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers by treating all employees and customers with dignity, respect and courtesy, taking responsibility for and making every effort to resolve communication, trust and respect concerns and problems.

BSEE, CS, IT or equivalent in experience and education

  • Minimum 5 years successful sales experience in a technical environment .
  • Proven track record of outside sales and quota attainment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop a plan to grow the business and fully implement with assistance from various resources i.e. marketing, inside sales, systems engineers.
  • Strong proactive planning, organizational and technical skills.
  • Positive attitude and works equally well as part of a team or without supervision.
  • Extensive travel is required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with public safety organizations.
  • Experience in mobile data solutions including wireless data transfer. Demonstrated success in driving proposal specifications, experience selling total solutions including implementation.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of products and services, working with a wide variety of individuals at levels ranging from police officers, IT departments, police chiefs and agency command staff.
  • Meeting established sales goals and quotas.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date working knowledge of technologies.
