Employment: Full Time Experience: Senior

Zendesk is looking for an experienced Director of Strategic Finance and Analytics with an impressive blend of business acumen and technical proficiency. You will support both strategy and day-to-day operations through insightful, data-driven analyses and analytics tools. This is a high visibility position that will regularly interface with Executives to provide actionable recommendations to various business functions and lead alignment on KPIs and definitions across the company. As a senior member of the team, you will drive projects and processes that will require excellent business partnership, leadership and project management skills.

On a day-to-day basis, you will develop the finance team’s business analytics capabilities and tactical roadmaps to expedite data-based problem solving and delivery of high value business insights. You will play a critical role in defining, measuring and regularly communicating our operational and financial performance. You will also partner with leaders across the company and perform ad-hoc analyses for high-impact strategic initiatives.

  • Partner with leadership to establish business and reporting cadence, measure critical initiatives, and package content for executive and Board discussions
  • Own regular executive-level communications of KPIs, Investor Relations metrics, key business insights and progress against goals
  • Lead efforts with Enterprise Data & Analytics team to continually improve and provide feedback on data environments, business requirements, utilization and user experience
  • Drive cross-functional analytical efforts to refine business definitions, investigate business-critical issues, highlight accomplishments, identify challenges and forge actionable recommendations
  • Develop and maintain in-depth financial, operating and forecasting models
  • Build consensus and facilitate strategic decision-making across multiple stakeholders
  • Expertise in financial modeling (Excel) and developing executive level presentations (PowerPoint)
  • Proficient with data analytics (SQL, Hive, Python) and front-end reporting tools (Business Objects, Tableau)
  • Experience in investment banking, data consulting, business operations or analytics at a high-growth technology company
  • Strong work ethic, overdeveloped attention to detail, pride of ownership and disposition to get things done
  • Sound business judgment, intellectual curiosity and self-motivation to work on complex business issues with minimum supervision and under tight deadlines
  • Ability to distill and articulate complex topics for all audiences
  • Bachelor's degree required
