The Social Impact and Public Policy team at Zendesk is growing. As our efforts around Diversity and Inclusion continue to evolve, we’re looking for a Diversity & Inclusion Associate to join our team. You’ll work in partnership with the Senior Manager, Diversity and Inclusion to help expand the reach of our D&I strategy. We’re looking for someone who is early in their career and can be tactical in approach while being eager to roll up their sleeves. Success in this role will come as a result of being an incredible team player who can help to operationalize our efforts. We’re looking for someone who thinks outside the box about driving innovation and ways to create change.
Provide strategic direction and guidance to support Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in achieving their respective goals; work alongside ERG Co-Leads to manage day-to- day operations
Identify and develop relationships with D&I focused nonprofits who are based in our local communities; explore partnerships that provide opportunities to change the narrative and paradigms
Manage relationship with existing D&I nonprofit partners; explore opportunities for further employee engagement with program participants
Partner cross-functionally to identify and implement D&I related strategies. Partnerships include, but are not limited to working with Recruiting, People Operations, Marketing, etc.
Develop and update reference materials and resources for internal sites and teams
Conduct research and gather data on industry trends to help inform, guide and support development of initiatives and programs
Help to support and research relevant regional D&I specific strategies Partner across the Social Impact team to ensure cohesion across efforts that overlap
Assist with planning and execution of events, programs and initiatives
Qualifications and Experience
Passion for diversity, inclusion, equity and advancement; deep interest in exploring ways to increase access and opportunity for historically underrepresented groups
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Diversity and Inclusion practices
Ability to build relationships quickly and have people look to you for direction and feel supported by you. Understand and use relationships to drive effective collaboration with peers and stakeholders
Self-driven with superior organizational skills, integrity and great follow through on tasks. Curious, innovative, extremely creative and constantly looking for ways to tweak and optimize process
Comfort working with data, conducting analysis, seeking insights and making inferences from data to drive future planning
Comfort with changing priorities and ambiguity
Comfort with working outside of normal business hours
Strong written skills; comfortable with presenting information to audiences of various size
2-4 years experience in Diversity and Inclusion or in HR, management, consulting, operations or a related field. Experience working with employee resource groups is a plus
