Zendesk is looking for a Financial Analyst to support the Corporate Finance team with all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and process improvement. As a key player in Finance & Strategy, the primary responsibility is to collaborate with Finance in managing Zendesk’s financial performance and helping to establish and measure key corporate objectives and metrics. This role will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience through exposure to our CFO and Finance/Investor Relations leadership team and have a significant impact throughout Zendesk’s Finance org.
Own major pieces of the company’s financial modeling, forecasting, and board reporting process
Collaborate with Finance leadership team to set and monitor total company budget and impacts to the P&L
Lead cross-functional teams to drive initiatives such as: optimizing financial systems, creating tools and/or improving operating processes, headcount tracking and budgeting
Become lead business partner and manage portion of G&A budget
Analyze short term and long term financial implications and provide support for decision making
Build strong relationships with business partners across the Finance & Strategy and Accounting leadership to maintain and develop best-in-class key operational and financial metrics
Manage the monthly/quarterly budget vs actual variance analysis, participate in the monthly forecasting, planning, and accounting close activities
Strong understanding of accounting and the ability to draw upon knowledge in order to produce accurate forecasts; work closely with Controller’s group to ensure accuracy and completeness during period-end close
Support monthly / quarterly standardized processes to enable timely, disciplined execution of internal and external reporting deliverables
1-3 years experience in FP&A, Accounting, Banking, Consulting, or similar field. Technology industry and SaaS experience a plus
Proficiency in financial modeling (Excel) and developing executive level presentations (PowerPoint)
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and quickly resolve data issues/needs
Positive attitude and collaborative spirit; enjoy working and problem solving with cross-functional partners
Strong drive for data integrity, process definition, and organizational alignment
Exposure to Netsuite and Hyperion a significant plus
