We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to help us build, improve and scale our internal runtime platform based on cutting edge technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Hashicorp’s Consul and Vault. Additionally, you’ll be helping us build additional monitoring, management and alerting systems, dashboards, tracking systems and myriad other tools. Our goals include continuous improvement to Zendesk reliability and stability, addressing gaps in operationalizing our software, and providing a complete runtime platform as a service. Our vision is to enable the rest of Zendesk engineering to create & deploy new microservices and applications at rapidfire pace.

Design, code and deliver systems that integrate with Zendesk microservices to provide monitoring and management of the product suite.
Build and maintain tooling that integrates with open source version control, continuous integration, deployment management and container management systems.
Interact with our top notch Compliance and Security teams to ensure the systems we build are reliable, SOC2 compliant and highly secure.
Participate in a tightly knit, cohesive and self-organizing Scrum team.
What you bring to the role:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 7 years of commercial experience developing software with Ruby on Rails, Scala and/or GoLang.
Experience working in a fast paced environment with continuous integration and testing
Proven experience collaborating with other scrum teams to understand, and sometimes enhance their apps and services.
Strong ownership of your work, with an ability to drive a project from inception through to completionChampion of best practices, high quality code, and proper test coverage.
