Position Summary
As an Analyst Strategic Pricing, you will be a critical partner in the Strategic Revenue Management journey and take a lead role in developing and executing the Pricing and Promotion pillars. You will help develop pricing and promotional strategies and tactics, monitor implementation, and evaluate performance regularly. In this role, it is crucial to gain an understanding of optimal trade execution with insight into both pricing and promotional impactors. You will leverage your detailed trade promotion knowledge to impact actual trade performances via interaction with field and headquarter-based Sales and Finance teams.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Leverage internal operational and external consumption data to create analyses, reports, and results-oriented feedback for key products and product categories
  • Develop pricing recommendations for proposed prices and overall impact based on analysis of product volume, margin, and competitiveness; present recommendations to Pricing Management and key cross-functional partners
  • Provide analytical support to Brand Marketing and Pricing Management teams regarding pricing guidelines for products by brand and region; communicate with Field Sales on specific pricing and promotions decisions
  • Assist with building financial targets and drive collaborative discussion on those targets


  • Complete accurate, thorough, and timely post-promotional and root cause analysis using varied data sources; leverage analysis to improve promotional planning for future activities
  • Evaluate promotion effectiveness from both a sales/lift perspective and trade cost/ROI perspective
  • Monitor display and promotional pricing compliance; utilize account promotional levers to maximize performance and effectiveness of trade spend
  • Monitor quality of promotion and ensure appropriate ROI
  • Evaluate the effects of competitive trade promotions and build competitive promotional indices at an account level

Requirements and Minimum Education Level
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related discipline 
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in Finance, Sales, or Analytics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in BI/visualization software, i.e., Power BI, Tableau; strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • An understanding of pricing concepts (elasticity, sensitivities, thresholds) and how pricing & promotion can impact commercial P&L statements
  • Experience working with external consumption data and internal financial data
  • Knowledge of the consumer-packaged goods industry

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team; strong ability to work across functions and divisions to deliver results in a fast-paced environment
