Associate Software Engineer
We are currently seeking Associate Software Engineers for software design, proposal support, systems architecture, and proof of concept development work. This position requires an individual to support both new and existing software designs.
An engineer in this position will be expected to be:
Responsible team member
Work with interdisciplinary groups of engineers
Qualify for a USA DOD security clearance
Travel intermittently with projects if needed
Strong candidates will have a background in:
BS/BA degree in CS/CE/EE required. Some software engineering experience preferred.
Excellent knowledge of standard operating systems such as: Linux and Windows (as well as specialized OS such as VxWorks, GreenHills Integrity, MQX, etc…)
Strong understanding of embedded software
Candidate can learn quickly and is excited by discovery and innovation
Demonstrated ability to work in groups of various sizes
Software development experience in C/C++, and an understanding modern object-oriented development patterns
Familiar with various source control repositories
Ability to lead software architecture discussions and articulate why a software design is good or bad
Understanding of signal processing technology and software-defined radios (e.g., proprietary or GNU Radio)
Understanding of networking technology (e.g., routing, switching, QoS, OSI model, MANET)
Working knowledge of RF propagation, signal processing, control systems, digital video/audio, networking, TCP/IP/UDP, RS-485, RS-232, I2C, low-level driver development and/or 1553 protocols, wireless communications and reading hardware schematics.
Good understanding of hardware – ability to contribute to system architecture discussions
Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicant's skills, education and experience.
Due to the nature of our work qualified candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
