The NBA’s Direct to Consumer (DTC) team leads the strategy for the league’s global digital product offerings and services. At the core, our mission is to enhance fan affinity through best-in-class global digital offerings. Currently, our digital offerings reach fans in over 200 countries and territories around the world by delivering live games and original programming on almost any device. The content is offered in multiple languages through a collection of packages including microtransactions, giving fans the ability to purchase portions of a live game.
The DTC team will be responsible for expanding our fan reach by creating a world-class technology platform centered around product innovation and telecast enhancements. We are looking for individuals to join our team who are passionate about cultivating fan experiences through personalized digital touchpoints and fostering innovative ways to drive monetization through DTC products for the league and our partners.
Position Summary:
The DTC Consumer Products team is looking for a talented product manager to lead key subscription commerce initiatives across platforms with a focus on user acquisition, conversion journeys and subscription management across platforms. This individual will play a key role in product development initiatives that shape the future of the NBA's ongoing digital transformation and direct-to-consumer growth.
Major Responsibility:
Leverage an understanding of existing and emerging subscription growth strategies on sports and streaming platforms; passionate and informed about the streaming media space and optimizing ways to drive user conversion
Contribute to product strategy and help prioritize the roadmap for the NBA's subscription experience
Lead design and implementation of subscription offerings and packages views across platforms; develop and manage an A/B testing and experimentation roadmap in close partnership with product marketing and monetization peers
Collaborate with platform partners to implement mobile, connected and web platform-specific innovations for subscriber management and retention capabilities
Lead and perform daily product management activities including writing product user stories, as well as crafting high level user experience flows
Contribute to product culture that emphasizes continuous testing, experimentation, iterative design and development using lean/agile methodology
Formulate outcome-driven hypotheses and conduct product performance measurement and analysis to guide iteration
Leverage user research (quantitative and qualitative) and existing user engagement data, implement A/B and multivariate tests of features in order to generate requirements for engineering teams
Effectively support the product design, engineering and QA teams throughout sprint cycles by prioritizing work items based on established outcomes and business objectives
Build and manage relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders, including product owners, product marketing, content, operations, sponsorship sales, monetization, external vendors and executives
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Exposure to working with premium subscription products/services using AVOD, TVOD or SVOD business model(s)
