We are seeking a Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership on Department of Defense (DoD) programs. The System Engineer is responsible for the life-cycle support of wide-band data link systems from conceptual development through product phase-out. This includes requirements management, technical documentation, project management, design oversight, build and test support, system deployment and in-house technical support during the operational life-cycle of the system.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: proposal support, requirements analysis and management, design support, documentation including participation in the generation of Statements of Work (SOW) and specifications, project planning, technical project management, subcontract control, and risk management. This person will also be responsible for leading and coordinating teams of system/design engineers.

  • Required technical skills include a solid understanding of communication theory, with a working knowledge of digital design, RF design, mechanical design, network design and software development for satellite and/or line of sight communication systems.
  • Experience in requirements management and documentation is essential. Other key skills are risk management, project planning and technical project management. Design experience is a plus, as is experience in one or more of the following areas: high-rate communication systems, satellite communication systems, spread spectrum systems, communication networks including Ethernet, IP, and higher layers of the OSI model.
  • The successful candidate will have good leadership skills, with the ability to guide and provide technical direction/vision for a given project. They will also be a strong contributor to integrated product team internal and external to the company.
  • The qualified candidate should be skilled in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, DOORS or similar tools.
  • A BSEE/BSME/BSCS/BSCE and at least 2 years experience or MSEE/MSME or equivalent technical degree with 4+ years of directly related work experience in an engineering environment is required.
  • Product development experience. Supporting from concept to sustainability.
  • Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.

This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicant's skills, education and experience.

Due to the nature of our work qualified candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
