Director, Capture Military Training

The Director of Capture Military Training is responsible for developing and executing winning strategies to capture military training services contracts. The position requires guiding cross-functional teams, in the development and execution of capture strategies. This position reports to the Vice President of Business Development. This position is responsible for working closely with the Sales/Marketing, Program Operations, and Engineering teams. The Director of Capture Military Training will work in coordination with all organizational functions to carry out the pursuit and capture of opportunities outlined by the Division’s growth strategy. The position requires intimate knowledge of USAF, USN, and other military customers and requires deep understanding of developing and executing strategies required for successful capture of military training service opportunities.

Key position responsibilities include:

  • Developing/implementing strategies for capturing opportunities in the Defense Aerospace market, specifically in training services
  • Organizing, coordinating, and overseeing cross-functional Capture teams and ensuring compliance with Division’s capture process
  • Guide Sales and Business Development in performing customer analysis to include, requirements analysis, customer mapping, customer decision making/acquisition process, and customer budgeting and funding analysis
  • Guide technical teams in developing solutions compliant with Request for Proposals, and results in selection for contract award
  • Oversee competitive analysis for each specific opportunity including Position to Win and Price to Win activities
  • Effectively integrate Competitive analysis into the overall Capture strategy, including Price To Win
  • Ensure each step of the Capture process is effectively and efficiently executed
  • Develop and present leadership briefings on progress of pursuits/capture
  • Lead and coordinate leadership win strategy briefings for each opportunity
  • Develop and manage capture budget
  • Manage and oversee proposal Development Center personnel
  • Candidates must have directly related experience in DoD and US Government Capture management and execution
  • Ability to effectively assess customer problem space and analyze Government solicitations
  • Experience with costing and pricing strategies for US Government acquisition/solicitations
  • Experience in developing Position to Win strategies and PTW
  • Experience with USAF Air Education Training Command, other DoD training commands as well as international military training customers
  • Strong communication skills to guide capture team and keep senior management informed on status
  • Highly proficient in the entire Business Development process and the related work product deliverables required to support Capturing new business
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills, with very high proficiency in PowerPoint a must
  • Ability to develop and deliver formal presentations to senior decision makers
  • Experience developing bid strategies for Flight service/support solutions
  • Ability to travel 1 week per month
  • Experience in military flight training is required
  • BS in technical field and Master’s Degree in Business preferred
  • US Military or other USG experience highly desirable
  • Clearance: Secret (preferred) or the ability to secure a clearance
