We have a team of approximately 100 and want to bring in a Director of Strategic FInance to create and lead the financial strategic finance function of the organization as we realize ambitious plans set our sights on ambitious growth plans.

We are on a trajectory to reach $100MM in 4 years and the right leader will enable us to reach get their even faster. , To get there we are thinking strategically 4 years out and want to bring in a leader who will strategically direct our finance so that we get there. In addition to having a front-row seat in an inclusive, growth-stage startup, this will be a You will have a great opportunity to build relationships with potential partners, venture capitalists and board members.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead and refine the financial process of the company including the end of month closing process with our Head of Sales, Operations Manager and CPA.
  • Rethink the presentation of key financial metrics for our Board of Directors, current and future investors, and finance partners.
  • Lead company-wide budgeting and four-year 4 year FP&A forecasting; drive monthly financial reviews to understand key forecast variances and be able to identify any key trends and areas for forecast improvement.
  • Identify and undertake highly visible and cross-functional projects to help prioritize resources and to aid in strategic decision making.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives by leveraging data and insights.
  • Model out the P&L impact of business initiatives and provide recommendations that aid decision-making.
  • Continuously refine and track KPIs to ensure resources are efficiently allocated, and help continuously improve reporting frameworks and tools.
  • Lead on board materials, fundraising, diligence requests, and other investor facing presentations on an as-needed basis.
  • Collaborate with Co-Founders on corporate development and building relationships with strategic investors.
What You Will Bring:
  • Strong strategic FP&A background, perhaps from investment banking, consulting or startup finance.
  • Strategic judgement and vision coupled with ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships based on trust and work collaboratively.
  • Ability to work independently in an unstructured environment (PowerToFly we currently employ at 100 people and still lacks certain some of the structures of later stage companies).
  • Strong financial modeling skills and a very high level of comfort with Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong presentation skills and high level of comfort with Google Slides
  • Strong attention to detail and organization with a natural feel for numbers
  • Passion for leadership, mentorship, and team development, and self-inquiry.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote, fast-paced, results-oriented environment
Ideally You Also:
  • Have experience working in an international multi-cultural team (we are global with team members in 20 countries).
  • Have corporate development experience.
  • Can demonstrate building trust and taking feedback.
  • Have 10+ years of experience.
  • Are able to work in the East Coast time zone.
  • Have impeccable presentation and communication skills.
