Netskope Threat Labs is a team of security researchers and subject matter experts working together to solve today’s toughest security challenges in new and innovative ways. The team focuses on threats to data and infrastructure in the cloud and attackers that abuse the cloud. We work closely with the security, data science, product, and engineering teams to develop novel protection strategies against emerging cybersecurity threats. Our research has been presented at conferences across the globe, including Def Con, Black Hat Europe, CAMLIS, MALCON, Nullcon, and AVAR. In this role, you will shape the direction of research and product development across all of Netskope’s products. By applying your technical knowledge and analytical skills to a set of anonymized usage data collected from the Netskope Security Cloud platform, you will guide research, product development, sales-enablement, and marketing efforts. 

Responsibilities

  • Analyze anonymized usage data collected from the Netskope Security Cloud platform
  • Analyze the impact of proposed and actual product changes
  • Identify opportunities to improve the security services we provide our customers
  • Identify opportunities for strategic investment in new product and research areas
  • Prepare internal and external reports, including the Cloud + Threat Reports, through collaborations with teams within Netskope and with our partners
  • Communicate your findings to cross-functional peers and management
  • Collaborate with the product, marketing, and sales teams to inform strategic decisions with the data insights you extract

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Math, Economics, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields required, MS strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years experience as a Data Scientist, Product Analyst, Sr. Data Analyst, or other type of data analysis-focused functions in industry or academia
  • Experience working with computer networking, cybersecurity, or related datasets
  • Advanced SQL expertise
  • Basic understanding of experimental design (such as A/B experiments) and statistical methods
  • Ability and experience in extracting insights from data, and summarizing learnings / takeaways
  • Experience with some dashboarding/data visualization like Looker or Google Data Studio
  • Experience with some big data processing platform 
  • Software development skills to develop your own tooling as needed
  • Discipline to create well-tested and documented code
  • Communication skills to work in a distributed, collaborative team
  • Written and verbal skills to create and deliver high-quality publications and presentations
Nice To Haves
  • Experience working with big data frameworks, such as Spark.
  • Product leadership or program management experience to implement your vision across teams and stakeholders
  • Understanding and experience in the visualization of security data
  • Experience working with data collected from web proxies, firewalls, sandboxes, and other common security tools
