This position will be located at our Space Systems Sector in Redondo Beach, California. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Vehicle Engineering organization. The selected candidate will research, plan, design and develop mechanical products and systems. Roles and Responsibilities:   Research, plan, design and develop mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanic al systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines. Basic Qualifications for Associate Mechanical Engineer:  A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must: Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Be majoring in or having majored in Mechanical Engineering or a STEM degree Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile) Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)   Basic Qualifications for Mechanical Engineer:  A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. Be majoring in or having majored in Mechanical Engineering or a STEM degree Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile) Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)   Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:    Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.7 out of 4.0 or higher Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular). Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
