About the Team:

The Driver Experience team has a vision: to enable millions of users worldwide to have a flexible, respectful, and reliable way to earn a living on the Uber platform. To accomplish that, we strive to provide the world’s best Driver App experience for Uber drivers and delivery people, starting from when they decide to go online and earn until they are done for the day. We strive to reach our vision through several areas of the user journey:

  1. Providing drivers with their toolkit to make informed choices on how, when, and where they want to go online and earn.
  2. Match drivers with the best trips for them and the right information.
  3. Improving their pickup and drop-off experiences, ranging from finding the Rider’s location to picking up complex deliveries.

About the Role:

As a Product Manager for the core Driver Experience, you will own one of the most fundamental parts of the Driver app, and lead the end-to-end product strategy and execution of UX-forward features that improve the daily lives of our drivers. 

You will be a true owner, defining where the product should go and collaborating with Engineering, Design, and Data Science to make your vision a reality. This is a role for a self-starter who is able to identify both 0->1 features and incremental experience improvements from customer and data insights.

Examples of the kinds of Driver Experience projects include: Rethinking how drivers discover and manage their ways to earn (ex. Driving for Rides vs. Eats) Improving the map experience to make it more understandable and useful. Make the delivery drop off experience super simple and streamlined, saving time and reducing issues

What the candidate will do:
  • Define a product vision for the team and identify near- and long-term initiatives to build your product roadmap
  • Translate user needs into product requirements by distilling user problems, writing hypotheses, and describing desired outcomes. Work with engineering and design to make them a reality
  • Represent the global experience by understanding the differences between different regions and partner with local teams to make those solutions a part of your roadmap.
  • Build and foster a strong team culture with a focus on execution and results.
  • Clearly communicate product plans, benefits, and results to a spectrum of audiences, ranging from internal partner teams to our users.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience of PM experience.
  • Product Sense - Stellar design instincts and product taste. You own what you build.
  • Use data to align teams and drive strategic decisions. You always get the data you need and distill it into insightful stories.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience delivering highly successful and creative user-facing products. You're proud of what you've accomplished.
  • Customer Empathy - Think about the "why" before the "what". You are passionate about always making the user experience positive and unwilling to allow product challenges to impact users negatively.
  • History of building healthy cross-functional relationships and focusing on team accomplishments rather than individual
  • Ability to advise and evaluate engineering decisions.
  • Experience working on mobile experiences and consumer products
  • You are biased toward action, a great collaborator, and constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery
  • Grittiness. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and tackle something hands-on
