Director of Retention

Are you hyper-focused on data?  Do you get excited at the thought of crunching data in new ways to garner new insights?  We are seeking a Director of Retention to up-level our existing customer retention program.  As the Director of Retention, you will spearhead an innovative redesign of our loyalty and retention programs.  You will be the subject matter expert, setting direction for lifecycle marketing as well as implementing best-in-class behavioral marketing campaigns across a variety of channels.

The Director of Retention will manage a team of one while developing programs that will grow our LTV to mimic subscriber-esque behavior.  The programs you design and develop will incorporate our retention marketing, CRM marketing, and email/sms marketing to retain and increase the lifetime value of our customers.


Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop integrated retention marketing strategy and manage retention marketing team to increase customer repurchase rates, reduce customer attrition, and increase customer lifetime value
  • Analyze, manage, and crunch 1st party customer data
  • Drive innovation by identifying loyalty attributes and testing new ideas
  • Lead research efforts into better understanding our customer by using purchase history
  • Develop customer retention and loyalty programs and strategies
  • Communicate requirements for tools to better predict, model, and analyze customer information. Oversee process to enhance customer info
  • Identify and Implement CDP program
  • Create new ways to segment/personalize customer data



  • 8+ years of experience within retention marketing
  • 2+ years of data analysis or business intelligence
  • Bachelors degree in mathematics, engineering, or related field
  • Experience with modern ESPs and SMS messaging platforms
  • Understanding of CDP’s both homegrown and third party
  • Experience manipulating data and dashboards within Looker
  • Fluent within Shopify
