Facebook is seeking a Technical Program Management leader for Enterprise Engineering. We are looking for candidates who share our passion for tackling complexity head-on, to help build platforms that can scale through multiple orders of magnitude, while building and supporting a world class team of Technical Program Managers. Your core responsibility would be to support growth and development of Technical Program Managers as they drive planning, prioritization and program execution to ensure high availability of our infrastructure stack.

Facebook’s Enterprise TPM teams interact with a broad array of internal business, product and FB partners to deliver a common, scalable and secure mix of infrastructure and services. Managing an Enterprise TPM team requires a comprehensive understanding of distributed systems at an enterprise scale, a focus on growing and developing the skills and talents of your team, and a relentless drive to focus on high-value projects and to prioritize ruthlessly.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in corporate infrastructure built through a heterogenous stack supporting enterprise infrastructure, platforms and products. They will have experience in supporting and growing teams. Additionally, they will have experience working with data (analytics/insights experience, knowledge of database query languages, and/or broad experience in using data for product decision making), and the ability to build influence by example. Relevant experience is important, but ultimately less than your demonstrated abilities and attitude.

  • Manage a team of TPMs supporting various infrastructure and platform foundations programs including compute, network and storage infrastructure
  • Help define the roadmap and long-term strategy of the teams that you are working with
  • Partner with network, capacity, compute, storage and security teams to plan and execute against a broad array of business and product needs
  • Work closely with dedicated recruiting staff to expand the team, including sourcing candidates, interviewing candidates, participating in conferences/events, and onboarding new employees
  • Balance the need to “keep things running” with allocating time to long-term, high-impact projects
  • Assess employee performance frequently, address under-performance, and recognize and promote excellent performance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of work experience in the field of Information Technology
  • 4+ years management experience in a technology company
  • Experience growing a team that optimizes for execution, including attracting talent and building out gaps in the existing team
  • Experience moving technical or engineering programs or products from inception to delivery, and experience articulating the impact using metrics, growth examples, return, etc.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop systems, solutions, and products. Organizational, coordination and multi-tasking experience
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems
  • Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones
  • Technical knowledge and/or experience in infrastructure/backend systems
