The Department

Invesco’s Corporate Strategy team is a high-impact team of strategy professionals who design the corporate strategic planning process, support development of Invesco’s near-term priorities and long-term strategic plans, partner with Corporate Finance and business planning teams, and execute the operating rhythm for the firm’s CEO and Executive Management team.

Your role:

The Corporate Strategy Director works with management and partners across the firm to deliver objective, fact-driven advice and guidance to position the firm for long-term growth. This position provides exposure to Invesco leadership across global business lines and regions and an opportunity to participate in firm-wide leadership activities.

You will be responsible for:
  • Ensure continued strategic coherence between global and regional/functional strategic priorities, with a focus on the annual planning cycle
  • Act as an advocate to build alignment across regions/functions around Invesco’s vision and priorities - through presentations and written communications with key stakeholders (including Invesco’s Board of Directors)
  • Collaborate closely with partners across Finance and the broader firm to support prioritization and ‘interlock’ of priorities proposed by regions/functions
  • Guide leaders as they translate priorities into implementation plans – ensure appropriate KPIs are set
  • Manage a meaningful client/shareholder relationship by leading a team that includes Invesco’s CEO, CFO, Heads of Distribution and other relationship leads
  • Support special cross-functional projects (e.g., new business opportunities or market/product entry plans)
The experience you bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic record required
  • MBA from a top-tier program or equivalent degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience with proven success in a top-tier consulting or financial services firm
  • Demonstrated interest and understanding of financial markets and the asset management industry
  • Strong inter-personal skills with ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization and to drive stakeholder consensus and influence outcomes
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with financial modeling, financial statement analysis, company valuation or due diligence
  • A team player with willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to conduct complex analysis and present data in a meaningful way
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable driving owned initiatives
  • Intellectual agility – the ability to learn and act on new information quickly and efficiently
