BSD Release Coordinator

Level 3 Zone B

$83,031 starting salary plus 15% superannuation

At ActewAGL, we are looking for a self-starting IT professional to join the team as a Business Systems Division Release Coordinator. Our Business Systems Division (BSD) provides Information Technology (IT) support services to ActewAGL Distribution and its subsidiary companies Icon Water and ActewAGL Retail.

About the Role

In this role, you will report to the Environment and Release Manager in the Applications and Delivery branch.

You will be accountable for the management of all ICT environments (including non-production and production) and release into non-production and production environments, ensuring that version and access control is managed appropriately for all environments.

In doing so, you will manage the competing demands of projects and Business as Usual initiatives requiring preparation and access to the ICT environments by adopting BSD Environment and Release management processes.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Able to work unsupervised and independently with high accuracy to negotiate, plan, review and manage releases and environments activities (e.g. release note, deployment plan, resource management)
  • Ensure that test, validation and configuration management are applied in all releases and deployments activities based on Release process
  • Ensure release documents are reviewed and approved in each release cycle based on BSD Environment and Release Management Process
  • Monitor release progress and milestones during the project and BAU delivery phase.
  • Report the release progress to BSD Environment and Release Manger
  • Assist to run the Release Board meeting
  • Identify release related risks and escalate it to the Release Manager
  • Ensure Integration mapping between different environments is controlled, managed efficiently
  • Coordinate the Infrastructure releases deploy to non-production and production environments
  • Input into deployment, cutover and implementation plans
  • Review the release documents before each deployment to non-production and production environments
  • Communicate release details and schedules to the stakeholders and release board
  • Ability to make a decision with minimal supervision to support the release process

Well, if you are equipped with:

  • Tertiary (or equivalent) qualifications in IT.
  • Experience in previous release and/or project coordination experience
  • Experience in information systems environments and the software development lifecycle
  • ITIL foundation certificate
  • Deep understanding of Change Management Functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-functional work teams toward task completion with minimal supervision
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills are necessary including the ability to write the professional IT documents.
  • Experience with Service Management tool ServiceNow
