We are currently looking for an Engineering Manager to join the Thales team in Irvine, CA. to provide guidance and leadership in all aspects of IVV activities, including definition, documentation, and execution of system acceptance test plans and procedures; system integration and verification activities; and troubleshooting & test.
• Provide management oversight to staff of engineers responsible for system software Integration, Verification and Validation (IVV) activities. • Manages SW packages as needed for system-level testing. • Plans, coordinates, and organizes phases of the project to completion; utilizes schedules to organize and understand project tasks and manages the tasks throughout the system design and verification phases. • Commit on schedule and budget constraints for the project the holder of the job is responsible for. • Identifies and resolves potential problems before they occur therefore minimizing the impact to schedule and cost. • Exercises a high degree of initiative and independent judgement in coordinating the work of peer personnel within the group and external groups as well.
Skills and Experience:
• Ability to manage software integration, verification and validation. • Have software development experiences or background. • Ability to work independently and make decisions. Be able to solve complex problems independently. • Knowledgeable with multiple programming languages (C/C++, Java) and shells scripts (bash). • Knowledgeable with networking, TCP/IP, VLAN, Database, such as, MySQL. Knowledgeable with Defect tracking tools (JIRA, Clear Quest). • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field required. 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
