We are looking to add an Engineering Director to our Clearinghouse product. The Clearinghouse provides a vital link between healthcare providers and insurance payers for some of healthcare’s most essential transactions. The connective pipeline created by the Clearinghouse is a foundational piece of infrastructure to the Internet of Healthcare that we are building at Olive

We are seeking an ambitious and technically strong engineering leader who is passionate about creating a great environment for humans to build software. We believe that supporting engineers by investing in the best tools, equipment, management, systems, and processes is critical to attracting top talent and building a great product. We are looking for people who share this vision, excel at growing the skills of their teammates, and have strong problem-solving skills. As an engineering director, you will oversee multiple teams and will be responsible for the career growth and productivity of the engineers on those teams.

  • Responsible for the definition and implementation of a robust software engineering processes and workflow to meet company objectives.
  • Responsible for the leadership of the software engineering group, ensuring good communication of company and division strategy and development of best practices within the engineering area.
  • Drive the synergy and sharing of code, best practices and tooling across all software projects.
  • Ensure proper resource assignments on a daily and weekly basis to maximize value to company, customers, and individuals.
  • Lead and motivate the team to produce Olive’s category changing products on time and with no defects.
  • Drive initiatives around continuous improvement of company development to improve productivity and efficiency in all areas.
  • Responsible for recruitment of new staff into the software engineering group.
  • Create a culture of engineering excellence where ideas flow and best practices are daily practices.
  • Establish a culture of engineering excellence.
  • Understand company business objectives and build alignment and buy-in across functional teams.
  • Motivate all team members to deliver high quality projects within committed time and budget.
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee on-boarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
  • Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary


  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, advanced degrees preferred. Alternatively comparable industry experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 6+ years of progressive responsibilities in software development.
  • Requires at least 4+ years managing Agile software development teams.
  • Requires strong experience with complex software development
  • Requires a deep experience in the software development life cycle best practices.
  • Requires strong technical awareness and the ability to understand the reasoning and implications of technical decisions.
  • Requires effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate and interact well with co-workers and customers.
  • Requires the demonstrated ability to build trust and strong cross-functional relationships across the company to achieve common goals.
  • Requires a goal-oriented and driven attitude with a superior ability to execute and sustain a high sense of urgency.
  • Requires excellent memory, organizational ability, and the ability to set priorities, handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
