    As a Software Architect, you will be a key technical leader and a role model within the organization. You will be helping to build highly scalable data services for the Autodesk Forge Data platform, that will be used by Autodesk’s flagship products to manage Design and Make data of millions of our customers.

    Location: We're open interviewing those who are remote to anyone located in the United States or Canada.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead the architecture and technical vision of building and operating highly scalable, distributed, data intensive micro-services

    • Partner closely with other product teams and the leadership in defining the strategic technical roadmap, communicate the strategy in various forums, and make it a reality

    • Identify and lead cross functional opportunities, partner with your peers in the company, and connect business objectives with the technical vision

    • Champion adopting industry best practices to push the development standards on the team and in the larger organization

    • Align the technical direction with business needs, leading the team to make the correct compromises between short-term business opportunity and long-term technical vision

    • Lead Domain Modeling and Data Modeling of complex CAD systems, partnering with Product Managers and UX Designers

    • Assist in hiring and mentoring other engineers. Help build fast-growing and high-performing teams

    • Perform thorough design and code reviews, drive best practices to clean and maintainable code

    Minimum Qualifications

    • BS in Computer Science or related field

    • Proficiency in Java or Golang, building distributed systems

    • Building and running large scale systems professionally for 12+ years and can point to things you’ve worked on

    • 3+ years of experience in technical leadership or architect role, leading design of complex systems

    • Deep understanding of database systems (E.g. MySQL InnoDB, Cassandra) including scalability, performance, and consistency characteristics

    • Proficient in API Design using REST or GraphQL or gRPC

    • Experience in improving performance and reliability of complex systems

    • You are curious how things work and enjoy fixing when things break

    • Strong communicator. You’re excited to and have the ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different types of audience, including executives

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Possess strong Computer Science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and data management. Are conversant in multiple programming languages

    • Thorough knowledge of multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing concepts

    • Experience in building mission critical systems for a SaaS platform, product or business

    • Expertise in Domain object modeling, Data Modeling and making database choices

    • Experience using Cloud Infrastructure Providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure

    • Experience building offline-first application architectures for Desktop and Mobile applications

    • Experience working with Product Management and User Experience to build Product Roadmap and Technology/Architecture vision

    • Experience with or contributing to open-source projects and/or research in large scale data and distributed systems.

    • Exposure to Security and Compliance challenges in Cloud products and/or platforms
