Director of Habitational Underwriting

As Director of Habitational Underwriting at Attune, you’ll be joining an experienced team of underwriters and insurance professionals to take the lead on growing a portfolio of SME Habitational business, fostering key broker and partner relationships and identifying opportunity. You’ve got the experience and drive to continue creating and managing our automated underwriting process, using a combination of predictive analytics and third-party data. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own the underwriting of new and renewal property & casualty business in a fast-paced, data-centric environment.
  • Prioritize strategy efforts around performance and goal criteria, including profitability, renewal retention, rate growth, and targeting of new business opportunities.
  • Leverage Attune’s relationships to identify, develop, and target new business and service, and retain renewals while developing long-term strategic broker relationships.
  • Embrace collaborating with our risk-based capital partner(s) from which we maintain our underwriting authority.
Qualifications
  • 15 years+ of experience in property and casualty, and significant experience as an underwriting technical leader in the habitational insurance segment.
  • Comfort interacting internally (from engineering to leadership), and to external clients as well
  • Ability to direct best-in-class customer service to our partner brokers and insureds
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Quick to learn new technology
  • CPCU designation preferred, but not required
  • Approximately 10% domestic travel will be required
