JOB DESCRIPTION: The Analytic Consultant works directly with the business to develop analytic processes, define core metrics, identify new data sources, deliver statistical insights, and more. This position is tasked with solving problems and enabling data-driven decision making. As a member of this team you will be responsible for analytic initiatives to help drive business goals and outcomes.



As a strategic analytics partner of the business you will also collaborate with Enterprise Information Management to produce and/or improve existing data assets that enable data-driven decision making.



Roles & Responsibilities:



* Strategic partner for the business that identifies critical analytical issues and/or opportunities then applies an innovative mindset to drive solutions leveraging data and analytics.
* Accountable for data wrangling, analysis, reporting, and visualizations.
* Utilize data-oriented programming language (e.g. SQL, Python, R) and build intuitive dashboards/visualizations (e.g. Cognos Analytics, Planning Analytics, Power BI).
* Use and establish data warehousing best practices and techniques.
* Participate and actively lead aspects of a project in partnership with EIM ( Enterprise Information Management) translate business needs and influence technical and business leaders in service of the project goals
* Use existing data assets to assist the business with self-service analytics by providing both technical support, business domain expertise, and training.
* Manage ambiguity and work with minimal oversight. Accountable to connect the dots across the business needs and independently drive initiatives forward.



Required Technical Skills:



* Strong problem solving, diagnostic, and analytical skills
* Strong knowledge of insurance concepts and a deep expertise of at least one business domain within the field
* Expert written and verbal communication with strong people and presentation skills
* Expert knowledge of data-oriented programing languages (e.g. SQL, Python, R)
* Expert knowledge of Analytics tools (e.g. Planning Analytics, Power BI, Python, Databricks)
* Familiar with logical and/or physical data modeling techniques and Data Warehousing concepts
* Proficient in translating functional business needs/requirements into technical specifications
* Proficient in training/educating business users on analytic solutions, accessing data, and other analytics concepts
* Consult with the business, leveraging design thinking, analyzing issues and/or opportunities, and generating analysis or proof of concepts to help solve complex business problems
