AVP, Portfolio Credit – PayPal Credit (L11)

Role Summary/Purpose:

Provide Credit reporting and analysis for all product line(s) within the PayPal Credit portfolio with primary accountability for identifying and managing credits, credit and operational in nature, across all components of the cardholder lifecycle through data gathering and analytics. Support and interact with the client team, and with key contacts throughout Synchrony Financial.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the PayPal Credit leader and client team providing data and analytics in support of minimizing both Synchrony Financial’s and the retailers’ credit, while continuing to grow the portfolio
  • Provide credit reporting and analysis for all product lines including consumer and commercial assets
  • Provide credit evaluation, delinquency/loss mitigation, enforcement of Credit policies and portfolio monitoring
  • Work effectively cross-functionally to resolve issues associated with Credit analytics
  • Prepare and deliver well-developed client facing and internal presentations
  • Understand and monitor the operational risks to portfolios
  • Support driving enhanced strategies, using champion/challenger learnings to manage credit and fraud credit.
  • Provide credit support to the client team and work cross functionally to ensure credit strategies are performing as expected
  • Participate in planning cycle with Finance, Client Development, Marketing, etc. to ensure consistency in business plans
  • Investigate and resolve various customer and client issues

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in a consumer and/or commercial Credit/Risk, Finance, or Analytics role; or in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 4+ years in a consumer and/or commercial Credit/Risk, Finance or Analytics role.
  • 1+ year experience with SAS, SQL or other related analytic tools

  • Familiarity with consumer and commercial lending products and practices

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • Effective 1-1-18, new hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a “consistently meets expectations” performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance requirement).

The salary range for this position is 70,000.00 – 150,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
